WAG Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital was created from the Wasatch Animal Group with the belief that pets, families, referring veterinarians, and veterinary teams deserve a better experience during some of the hardest moments in medicine.
As a locally and independently owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Salt Lake City, WAG was built by people who work on the hospital floor, care for patients directly, and live in the community we serve. We are here for dogs and cats who need urgent care, advanced diagnostics, specialty treatment, and clear answers when the next step feels uncertain.
Our goal is to make emergency and specialty care feel more open, more collaborative, and more connected from the moment you arrive.
Built by Veterinary Professionals Who Wanted Better
WAG was founded by a team coming from large corporate veterinary medicine who wanted to create something more personal, transparent, and patient-driven. We wanted a hospital where medical decisions could stay close to the patient, where families could feel informed instead of shut out, and where the people delivering the care felt supported and valued.
That vision shaped everything about WAG, from our hospital layout to our communication style to the way we care for our team. We are not owned by distant decision-makers. WAG is owned by people who work in the hospital, care for patients, and understand what families and veterinary teams need in real time.

Emergency and specialty visits can feel stressful because so much happens quickly. At WAG, we want families to feel more connected to their pet’s care, not separated from it.
Our hospital was designed on one floor with a more open, collaborative approach. When appropriate, pet owners may have more visibility into what is happening with their pet and more opportunities to stay involved in the care process.
We believe transparency builds trust. You should never feel like your pet disappears behind a door and you are left waiting without context.
